This policy explains what personal information Get Smart CV collects, why we collect it and the choices you have. By using the site you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account details: your name, email address and a password, which we store only in hashed form.
• CV content: everything you type into the editor, such as your photo, phone number, address, work history and education. You decide what to include.
• Orders: what you bought, the amount, the payment method and any reference you enter for manual payments. Card details are handled by the payment provider (PayPal or Stripe) and are never stored by us.
• Messages: what you send us through the contact form.
• Technical data: a session cookie to keep you logged in, and standard server logs kept by our hosting provider. If analytics is enabled and you accept it, anonymous usage statistics.

How we use it

We use your information to run your account, save and render your CVs, process payments, send emails you need (such as password resets and receipts), answer your messages, prevent abuse and improve the service. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use your CV content for advertising.

Who we share it with

Only service providers that help us operate the site: payment processors (PayPal, Stripe), our email provider, our web host, Google Fonts (which receives your IP address when fonts load) and content delivery networks that serve the download tools. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete any CV from your dashboard, or delete your whole account, CVs and photo included, from the Account page. Order records may be kept as needed for accounting and legal reasons. Backups are removed on their normal cycle.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal information at any time through our contact page. If you live in the EU, UK or a similar region you may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing and to complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

We use hashed passwords, access checks on every CV and encrypted connections where the site is served over HTTPS. No online service is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Children

Get Smart CV is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
